Boulder’s Unconstitutional Gun Ban

Boulder’s Unconstitutional Gun Ban

Boulder, Colorado decided to challenge the constitutional right of what type of arms one can have and pushed into law the most sweeping gun ban in the nation.

Boulder Passes Sweeping Gun Ban, Now Facing Law Suite

Yesterday we saw a lawsuit against Bolder, Colorado, not just the city but the council members who voted to strip the constitutional rights of gun owners, tell the citizens they have to turn in what they deem as a violation of the law, now the people are fighting back, they are suing the people who voted on such a law.

Much of Colorado is a wonderful state with wonderful people, but for some reason, you go to Boulder and it is full of loony leftist that think what they want and find comfortable supersedes what the constitution says.

The Boulder City Council unanimously passed a sweeping gun control ordinance Tuesday night banning “assault weapons” and bump stocks, even as a pro-Second Amendment group threatened to retaliate by suing individual councilmembers.

According to Fox, who also reported on this:

In a surprising turn, one Colorado councilwoman admitted that she disagreed with the ordinance “in many ways,” saying it would invite a flood of litigation — despite voting for it.

They went on further in their ban to define what was illegal, bump stocks, any gun that  is a “semi-automatic firearms designed with military features to allow rapid spray firing for the quick and efficient killing of humans.”

They also include all hunting rifles that were with detachable magazines with more than 21 bullets and all shotguns with foldable stocks or a magazine with 6 or more shotgun shells.

There is one slight problem, and this will work its way up the courts. I think first there will be an injunction on this law, then since the constitution, not the city decides guns are legal, the right to even legislate this will be called to question.

I think the suit of the legislators is a great move, it is time we start holding these people responsible, if you wish to pass laws that infringe on our constitutional right, then you shouldn’t be immune from responsibility for your actions.
