The Democrats Mounting Divide Threatens The Party
While the Democrats love to present a united front, the reality is far from the visual they are giving us all. Within the DNC you have the old guards, the leadership of the party, they have seen it rise and fall in power, know the roadblocks that can lead to its demise, following behind and pushing hard are the younger members, more idealistic, trying to push the party further left.
You have members that are corrupt to their core, Pelosi, Schumer and Water’s meet this definition, they will say anything to keep their base in line, the truth matters little to them, only power does. They will give lip service to the more radical elements within the party, but will try to steer the party more centralist in nature, they know the more they stray to the far left the more they lose the ones that actually give national victories, the independents and less liberal Democrats.
Today you have new elements coming in, they are far more radical then what the DNC has dealt with in the past, you have two women that are Muslim, that alone is not a problem, but their backing of groups like Hamas and Hezbollah, their hatred of all things Israel is going to be a huge problem for the DNC Jewish members, if they allow them to push too far you are going to see even a greater exodus of Jews away from the party.
Others, like Sanders, could care less about this, they would sacrifice Israel and deal happily with antisemitism with the party if it means their ideas of socialism can be forced down our throats. As we see this shift, we are going to see the DNC move further and further away from their support of Israel and more towards supporting radical elements in the Middle East.
We have seen some of this split already taking place. In a sit down in Pelosi’s office, the environmentalist was protesting not enough being done to force clean power on the whole nation, who shows up at Pelosi’s office, encouraging these protesters? Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Now, while this may be tolerated for a short time by Pelosi, I promise, if pushed too far Pelosi will have no issue calling Cortez to the carpet and tell her enough is enough. The problem will arise when Cortez says no, she, being an activist at heart will side with the activist, Pelosi then exiles her to useless committees.
But even greater in issue are the new upcoming members, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and elected member André Carson, with his ties to the Islamic terrorist group, the Muslim Brotherhood is very troubling. Further, the anti-Israel, anti-semitism you see coming from the growing Muslim community, most of whom are turning to the DNC because the Democrats will not accommodate to their more radical elements are going to start to put greater and greater pressure on their Jewish members, many whom are very much involved in donating money to the party, money that is desperately needed to keep the election machine going.
There is also the problem that you are now seeing the socialist side coming more and more into dominance, yet looking at polling, this is from Gallup:
- 47% of Democrats view capitalism positively, down from 56% in 2016
- 57% of Democrats now view socialism positively, little changed from 2010
- Republicans very positive about capitalism; 16% positive on socialism
We see the breakdown further with the two parties, you are now seeing the Democrats are sliding more towards a socialist bent, but the GOP still views Capitalism very favorably, the numbers have held for the most part steady over the last 8 years.
You also see this played out as the population ages, many children come out of college, the idea of universal socialism seems wonderful coming out of college, that is until they get their first paychecks, then see the money currently taken out to support the government and social programs such as Medicare and SSI, they start to realize that if there are more programs, there will be more taxes to support them, they start to realize that much of their check will be headed towards people that are not contributing to the system, you see these numbers fall.
Part of the problem is that the Democrats are seeing more and more youth getting out and vote, this was very evident in the last two elections, although they have never voted in the numbers as the older generation does. But with the vote they are also experiencing more power, they are demanding if they are going to participate in elections, then they have a right to have a say in how things are done in the party, this is starting to push the left more and more towards the radical left.
While they may have gained in local area’s, we saw this with some of the House Votes, Senatorial races are by state, just like the presidential race is national, these radical voices quickly get drowned out by the large population more center right or left, thus putting Liberal goals of regaining the White House and Senate in jeopardy.
This may all seem daunting, but it actually plays very favorable towards the GOP, as the Democrat’s push more and more to the radical left, the independents are going to find their positions too radical for them, they are more to the left and right of center, with Trump we saw the GOP move more towards center-right. The independents on a national level would rather deal with someone center left or right than anyone more towards the extremes of both sides of the political spectrum.
If the newcomers are given a voice in Congress, I personly think they will not be able to shut them up. This is going to be seen by all, the independents, the Democrat candidate for 202o to accommodate these people are going to have to swing even further left then Clinton did, the ones that actually decide federal and state elections are going to not wish to deal with a more radical left agenda, this will, in turn, be a great thing for the GOP, most likely resulting in the retaking of the majority in both houses and retaining the White House.
One has to hope the GOP will learn from this, of that I do have my doubts. The GOP lost the house this election simply because nothing was done, in spite of having a majority in both houses and holding the White House. We were promised a wall would go up, we were promised Obamacare would be gone, instead, we saw the DNC control the narrative, collusion investigations supported by the GOP, the wall was ignored, we were lectured by our leaders in the GOP about the morality of this.
Never Trumper’s in the GOP stopped Obamacare from being overturned. Seems we voted for a lion, sadly with Ryan and others we got a mouse. The GOP reacted, these people rightfully did not get reelected, but it is going to be worse for the next two years. That is fine, come 2o2o hopefully, we will have a stronger GOP in control of the House.
