California Has Bill That Will Dictate Morality To Churches And Synogogues

One of the stalwarts of this democracy is that our church and state were separated and when you wanted to deal with the government, you went to the church when you wanted to be taught or learn of moral affairs, you never went to the government, you went to your place of worship. ACR-99 is trying to undo the separation by trying to dictate morals to religious organizations and churches.

The reason the founding fathers wanted this separation was not to keep the church out of the state, look at their writings, they specifically state this, rather to keep the all corrupting influence of power within the state out of churches.

One of the things that many today don’t realize our founding fathers had parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents that had fled the religious persecution from Europe. There you had religious organizations controlled by the state wiping out communities because they would not adhere to their specific set of dogma, the founders wanted to keep the freedom of worship here at all cost, so they separated the two, intending them never to be joined.

In this same period, that is until the early 1900s, the Jews were fleeing from nation to nation in Europe, Russia until the early 1900s still had pogroms against their Jewish population (state sponered persecution), Jews under immense pressure to convert or face possible prison terms, prosecution or even death. Our founders knew of this, so they wanted to keep the corrupt hand of the state off our faith, let our faith continue free, so as not to affect the morals we were taught.

The problem started in the 1950s in Europe, carried over here in the 1960s. All the moral choices that our parents or grandparents had learned, they were now being questioned. The age of the hippies had arrived. While this freedom may have seemed great, it also came at a cost, soon all the establishments our nation was founded on was under question, from churches to social organizations.

This continued into the 1970s as these young people graduated from college, then took active roles in fighting the Vietnam war, questioning the governments roll in everything, pushing for social justice, even if sometimes part of it was misguided. Morals were tossed out the window, we learned that if it felt good, then please have at it. Activists at that time were people like Timothy Leary and John Lennon, the more radicals, like Weatherman Underground took on a far more violent roll.

The problem is today these people are the one in power in Congress, have moved into our colleges, are educating our children, and are in government positions all within our national structure. These people see the state as the guiding moral influence, not our houses of worship, so they are intent to do away with faith and lay all at the alter of progressivism.

Thus comes in this bill, ACR-99 Civil rights: lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender people. What this bill does is direct churches and other religious organization to stop teaching that the bible or Torah teaches that homosexuality is a sin, that transgenderism is not according to G-d’s plan.

As most of you know, I don’t discuss religion other than looking at it from a journalistic point of view, but must say, that this is 100% contrary to what our founding fathers intended. To have the state now dictate to churches with laws like ACR-99, to determine that their idea’s of morality take more precedence then what their holy writings teach, that is entirely unconstitutional, yet it is now pushed by the California legislation.

What you are finding is this is being done slowly all over the nation as the left is trying to push this nation more into what Europe has. Go to Canada, which has their own law that resembles ACR-99, if you are caught preaching that homosexuality is a sin, they will arrest you for hate speech, the same in England and all over Europe.

I need to be blunt here, I could care less if someone is gay, everyone in this nation has a right to happiness, but they don’t have a right to force their moral choices on anyone else. The people screaming the loudest ACR-99 Civil rightsabout “Christians” or others trying to force their faith or moral choices on them, they are doing exactly what they are screaming at others about.

It is the same with racism, in the 1960’s we saw the nation move to strip much of the racist laws off our books, but there was one thing that was always held to heart, the right to free speech. Today you can say you hate black people, or African Americans, that is your right, this is why, even though most of us find them detestable , they allow groups like the KKK to march in our streets, so long as they do so peacefully.

We have the right to free speech, speech that is offensive, that we don’t agree with, this is what the 1st amendment was written to protect. It is the same with faith, that is why they are part of the same amendment, the first. All our rights are important, but the other 9 rights given to us, they are set up as to protect the 1st one, this was and is the cornerstone that our nation is built on.

I have said many times before, and will repeat it.

You may not like what someone says, but we never silence them.

We fight bad speech with good speech

We fight lies with the truth

We fight bigotry with acceptance

We fight hate with love

What we NEVER do is silence speech, otherwise, the onlookers start to wonder, what is it that you are afraid of, this then makes what you are hiding as more enticing. If you expose wrong with right, you take away this attraction to it or at least expose it for what it is.

We fight bad speech with good speech

We fight lies with the truth

We fight bigotry with acceptance

We fight hate with love

This bill, ACR-99, needs to stop, and needs to be resisted at all cost, like a knitted shirt, you tug at one thread, you risk the whole becoming unraveled, yet this is what has been happening, the left has been pulling on the threads of the constitution and our rights for years, we need to resist to hold the whole together or risk the whole thing unraveling.
