Democrats And Political Theater

We saw the ongoing circus in the Senate last week as the Democratic Senators, without a thought for the truth, tried to put their spin machine into overdrive as they attacked A.G. Barr, but now the Congress wants in on it too.

The ongoing crises is due to Barr will not release to them the unredacted Mueller report, but they know that under the law they passed, he can’t, if he did he would be in violation of the law.

Rule 6(e)(2)(B) lists eight categories of persons who “must not disclose a matter occurring before the grand jury” unless an exception applies: 1. grand jurors; 2. interpreters; 3. court reporters; 4. operators of recording devices 66; 5. persons who transcribe recorded testimony; 6. attorneys for the government; 7. government personnel needed to assist attorneys for the government; 8. persons authorized to receive grand jury materials under 18 U.S.C. § 3322. 67

Congress is the one that created this law, now they are demanding one who is put in office to uphold these laws either violate them or be held in contempt. What Congress is really doing is trying to set up a trap, if AG Barr releases the information they can site him for violating the law, thus force him to step down, if he does not, they charge him with obstruction, then do the same thing.

What is more, in a finding that could directly affect the demands of Congress, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled Friday that judges don’t have inherent authority to order the release of grand jury information that is protected by secrecy rules.

This means, even if you are in the position of authority, such as Congress or the Judge, you have no right to release or demand the release of grand jury information that is protected under the law.

A.G. Barr and the Trump administration at this point would be better off to challenge this in the courts, to show that Congress is not within its right to demand someone violate the law to appease them, Congress, like every citizen is still bound to the law.

Turns out this is just more of the same, in the same hearing where they are demanding Barr violate the law in making public the unredacted report, they then in the next breath attack him for daring to look into the people that started the whole Russian Collusion hoax. Turns out they are only concerned about information that will further their political goals, the rest, they could care less about, it does not further their agenda.

Looks like we are still in the midst of a soft coup, the only thing I have to ask, “When this fails, and it will, I have already heard of threats of a actual violent coup, when does that start? And if it does, where do I sign up to fight against it?”
