How The Press Is Covering For Antifa While Attacking Proud Boys
We have seen the conflict in Portland, how Antifa has in the past attacked anyone that dared to show up, a group called the Proud Boys came to make a statement, did not come to fight, but said they would not back down if attacked, yet the press painted them as far-right White Supremacist, and Antifa as a group fighting their fascism, but was this accurate?
To understand Antifa one has to look at their origins and what they are, what they stand for.
The Antifa movement is a left-wing, militant group that claims to be anti-fascist, they are a lose knit group of ideology, there is not a unified leadership that is known, although it is argued that Soros and others are pulling the strings behind the curtain.
The main point that Antifa is known for is their willingness to use violence to achieve what they aiming for. They are willing to engage in protest activities that include online or digital activism, destroy property, physical attacks, and harassment against anyone they identify as fascist, racist or who they consider as to the right of their political stance.
They tend to be anti-capitalist, are far-left activist, which includes people who support anarchist, socialist, and communist, in addition, they also have liberal progressives and social democrats. Their stated focus is fighting far-right and white supremacist ideology directly, rather than through electoral means. The problem is they consider anyone even that does not support white supremacy as supporting it, all you have to do is be to the right of them.
Countering them were the Proud Boys. The group was started in 2016 by Vice Media co-founder and former commentator Gavin McInnes, taking its name from the song “Proud of Your Boy” from the Disney film Aladdin. The press loves to paint them as white supremacists, but to date, I have seen nothing from the group that shows this ideology.
Proud Boys emerged as part of what the press labeled as alt-right, but I see little similarities between the two. The alt-right seems to focus on just whites, the Proud boy’s focus
We have seen the press, with journalist like Colleen Long with Associated Press, try to paint them as a far-right racist group, which was extremely inaccurate in their depiction of the group, this was backed up by Jason Wilson of the Guardian, two journalists that for some mysterious reason will not document anything against Antifa or other far-left radical groups, but are desperate to label this group as a racist one.
They state that the group sees men – especially white men (although there is little evidence of this, they have men that are not white as part of their membership, even their leadership)- they also see Western culture as under siege, the leftist press claims they have elements of white genocide conspiracy theory, this was further advanced by Bob Moser, Joanna Walters and Kelly Weill, all three of whom are liberal writers, they have tried to link this group to Neo-nazi’s, something they do so in a rather amateurish manner.
To better understand the proud boys I went to their website, always figure that is the best place to get information on what they stand for, they state they stand for this:
- Minimal Government
- Maximum Freedom
- Anti-Political Correctness
- Anti-Drug War
- Closed Borders
- Anti-Racial Guilt
- Pro-Free Speech (1st Amendment)
- Pro-Gun Rights (2nd Amendment)
- Glorifying the Entrepreneur
- Venerating the Housewife
- Reinstating a Spirit of Western Chauvinism
I must say, I am not so sure about Chauvinism part, but I understand where they are coming from, the rest I have no problem with. While I am not in agreement with their tactics, I am in agreement with much of what they stand for.
So where did the problem come in? This group stands for exactly the opposite of what the progressives, thus the press stands for, it is thus in their interests to paint them in the worst light possible. They also as a group are supportive of Trump, so destroying them is the objective of all leftist journalist.
We hear that this group is racist, pro-white, but they are not that, they say they reject all racism, nor do they stand for the idea of White Privilege, being white is not something one should apologize for, this should not be done anymore then one should apologize for being born brown, black or any other color. We are what we were created or born to be.

While I have an issue with their resorting to violence, I must say, I am tired of the expectation that we will allow leftist like Antifa to attack us and we will do nothing. I grew up with being taught if someone strikes you, you knock them on their butts, this discourages the next person from trying this as well. We have heard from many that we should not do this, I disagree, if Antifa continues the actions they are doing, along with other radicals from the left, it may be time to ratchet up our response to how they are responding.
We have seen the unchecked violence perpetrated by Antifa, it was only a matter of time until a group rose up to counter them. With Antifa having soft support by the left, the refusal of the press to attack them as they are terrorizing others, we see the left’s horror that someone dares to stand up to Antifa, this will not do, so they go out of their way to apply false labels to the Proud Boys.
While I don’t advocate all this group stands for, I very much understand how they rose, what worries me is if the left continues these attacks against conservatives, what are they going to do when the rest of us have finally had enough? It seems fine with the left for Antifa to beat people up, but they seem to forget that violence begets violence, this cycle does not get better, rather gets worse with time.
I do have to say one thing before I end this, I find it interesting how one group is intent on hiding their identity, attacking behind the mask, the other is happy to let all know who they are. I don’t know about you, but I was raised that if you can’t stand openly for what you are fighting for, it is not only not worth fighting for, you are acting as a coward as well.

We are at a precipice, what we see with Antifa and the Proud Boys is just the beginning, the way to stop this is to control Antifa, then groups like the Proud Boys will not have a reason to exist, but as long as the left refuses to act, this group will not only grow, others will rise as well. We are at the point of great danger for this nation; one little spark is enough to set a fire, the question is no longer if it will happen, I fear it is only a matter of when.
